iKamper was launched in 2017 with the four-person Skycamp (formerly Sky4x), the most successful tent crowdfunding project of the American Kickstarter project to date. Since 2019, the Skycamp has been succeeded by the Skycamp 2.0, a further development of the already existing Skycamp. A compact 2-person variant has now been added, the Skycamp Mini. This new roof top tent was introduced in Europe in April 2020.
